Xavier Galvan is the Area Manager of Flagship Operations at AT&T’s Michigan Avenue Flagship Retail Store.  As AT&T’s premier retail property, Xavier and his team of 50 Flagship Brand Ambassadors help Chicagoans and travelers immerse in the pinnacle of communication and entertainment experiences.  In his current role, Xavier is responsible for promoting AT&T’s brand’s brand through innovative customer experiences and exclusive media events.

Xavier joined AT&T in 2007 after graduating with a BA from the University of IL at Urbana-Champaign and has built a career focused on retail operations and strategy.  He also holds a MBA with a concentration in  Network and Telecommunications Management from Keller Graduate School of Management at DeVry University.  Xavier lives in Wheaton, IL with his wife and two children.  As a competitive cyclist, you can find Xavier racing in local and regional events with his cycling team.  His passion for giving back to the community through athletics and wellness inspires his passion to lead on the BoMF board.

Vice President of Tax at Morgan Stanley

Kathy Higa is a Vice President of Tax at Morgan Stanley & is responsible for the coordination and oversight of the US tax reporting and compliance for several of Morgan Stanley’s domestic, international & global real estate funds.  Prior to working at Morgan Stanley, Kathy was a Tax Director at PwC, focusing on tax reporting, tax structuring & due diligence for real estate investment trusts.   During her time there, she also instructed week-long sessions at PwC National Training Centers across the country & served on a National Committee for Real Estate Education.  She received her Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin & her Masters in Taxation from DePaul University.

Kathy is currently Back on My Feet's team leader for the St. Leonard's team & enjoys the team & family aspect that Back on My Feet provide its members & volunteers.  She has been a runner since she was eight years old & loves seeing the BoMF members experience the transformative powers of running firsthand.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking, being a mom to two rescue dogs & traveling to Africa with her husband.

Global EH&S Audit Manager at Molex

Jennifer is an audit manager for Molex, LLC. a leading global provider of innovative electronic solutions to industries including data communications, consumer electronics, industrial, automotive and medical.  In her role Jennifer works with manufacturing locations around the world to identify and drive improvements in environmental, health and safety, and social responsibility performance.  She has 10 years of experience in the electronics industry and holds a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University.

NOT a lifelong runner, Jennifer’s passion for running developed quickly after connecting with the community of runners on the Molex Running Team.  Experiencing firsthand the dedication and support of her friends and colleagues inspired her to attempt and complete feats she never thought possible, like marathons and triathlon.  Since completing her first half marathon in 2011 she has gone on to complete 4 consecutive marathons and too many halfs, 5ks and other races to count!  She feels blessed to have found a home amongst the members and volunteers at Back on My Feet and hopes to inspire others to go the extra mile in their own life journeys.

Scott Majewski is the General Manager of ImageFIRST, a Healthcare Laundry Specialist serving Greater Chicago and Southeastern Wisconsin. ImageFIRST is the largest and fastest growing provider of healthcare laundry services to medical practices throughout the continental United States and Puerto Rico. With 36 locations and over 600 trained associates, ImageFIRST maintains a 95% customer retention rate – the highest in the industry.

Joining ImageFIRST in 2011, Scott knew the company held community giving at the heart of its purpose; since that time, he has fostered beneficial relationships on a local and national level with both Ronald McDonald House Charities and Back on My Feet. For Ronald McDonald House Charities, Scott set up a program servicing and processing linens for families staying at the houses so they could focus on their children. With Back on My Feet, Scott has ImageFIRST Associates joining in training runs, participating in payroll deduction to be matched by the company dollar for dollar, and has hired BoMF members as an Employment Partner.

Scott lives in Wheaton, IL with his wife Carrie and their twin daughters. They enjoy supporting the Cubs and Scott’s Indiana Hoosiers.

As a competitive runner, Scott is a member of TeamSUB3 out of Naperville, IL including a role leading the team in 2013 as Chief Training Officer. To date, Scott has run nine sub-3 hour marathons and has completed twenty-one.

Patricia McElroy overseas the finance, operations, and compliance for @financial and @financial Investments.  Patricia is a licensed CPA and holds a masters degree in accounting.  Throughout her career Patricia has held accounting manager, director, and controller roles at entrepreneurial companies in the travel, pharmaceutical, concierge services, and financial services industries.  Patricia has over 15 years of experience in both IT/business systems and finance fields and has been instrumental in helping businesses build the infrastructure, processes, and controls needed to support high levels of growth.

Patricia lives in Chicago with her husband and two sons.  Having completed numerous marathons and other various races, Patricia has come to understand and respect the power of running. Through running, she has grown closer to God and savors the inner peace and focus that she experiences through running. Patricia joined Back on My Feet in Chicago shortly after the chapter launched and continues to seek ways to serve the organization to make a difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness in the city of Chicago.

Director of Operations & Services at the City Tech Collaborative

Katie Olson is the Director of Operations & Services at the City Tech Collaborative. City Tech remakes essential city services and infrastructure using advanced technology, in partnership with corporate and philanthropic organizations such as Accenture, Microsoft, and the MacArthur Foundation. Katie led the launch of City Tech in early 2014, and now oversees all internal operations and new program design.

Prior to City Tech, Katie implemented World Business Chicago's Plan for Economic Growth & Jobs, Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s coordinated effort to assess and expand Chicago’s economy. As the Plan’s “Neighborhood and Place-Based Assets” Strategy Manager, she developed initiatives to accelerate small business growth, increase broadband access and adoption, leverage public transit investments for economic development, and build the capacity of anchor institutions’ supply chains. Katie also served in the Mayor’s Office as a Fellow in 2011. Before coming to Chicago, Katie worked for The Reinvestment Fund, a Philadelphia-based community development financial institution. 

Katie holds a Master of City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in Political Science and Interdisciplinary Studies from American University in Washington, D.C. From 2008-2010, Katie served as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in Malawi.

Katie has been volunteering with Back on My Feet since 2015, and has run the Chicago Marathon twice as a "fundracer". She also serves as a mentor at Erie House, a nonprofit which provides critical services and advocacy for the Latino community in Chicago. Katie was a founding member of Chicago Global Shapers, a World Economic Forum program for young leaders.

In 2015, Katie was selected as a winner of Chicago Inno's "50 on Fire" award, one of only a handful chosen for this honor in the Civic category.

Paul Reaumond is the Senior Vice President at CBRE, a Fortune 500 company that is the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm.  In his current Tenant Representation role, Paul specializing in managing global real estate portfolios for high growth technology firms and major corporate headquarter relocations in Chicago.  Paul joined CBRE in 2006 and previously held a role in the Financial Consulting Group at the firm. Paul’s other philanthropic work has included coaching baseball for the New City YMCA, advising for the Cabrini Green Tutoring Program and donating time to CBRE Cares.  Paul graduated from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University with a degree in Finance.

Joe Schuch is the Midwest Director of Business Development for Bimbo Bakeries USA, the biggest Baking Company in the U.S. and part of Grupo Bimbo, the Biggest Baking Company in the world.  Bimbo Bakeries USA bakes and distributes top brands such as Thomas’ English Muffins and Bagels, Entenmann’s Cakes, Sara Lee Bread, Brownberry Bread, Bimbo and Marinela sweet baked goods.  Joe started 28 years ago with Bimbo Bakeries USA and held various sales and management positions throughout his career.  Today Joe and his team lead distribution and sales projects in an area covering 10 Midwest states.

Joe is born and raised in Chicago and competed in track and field and cross country in high school and then at DePaul University in Chicago where he graduated with a degree in Human Resource Management.  Joe became part of Back on My Feet in 2013 and has run in the Chicago Marathon for BoMF every year since 2015.  Joe currently resides in Naperville, IL with wife Margaret and 2 daughters.

Managing Director, Accenture

Tracey, has served in the Business, Strategy, and Technology Consulting industry for 25 years.    Tracey began her career in the oil and gas industry, and has worked cross industry within the Strategy and Management Consulting areas for the majority of her career. She joined Accenture within the Technology practice over two decades ago, working on large scale system design and implementation.    She currently is an Accenture Strategy Managing Director, leading the global go-to-market offering strategy.

Tracey has also played an active role through her professional career reshaping the professional environment for women in technology and mentoring and coaching diverse owned business leaders. Outside of the domestic market, she is also committed to refocusing efforts in India to expand opportunities for female professionals across the country.

Locally, Tracey demonstrates a passion for improving the lives of those less fortunate, leading a series of partnerships between Accenture and the Chicago-based nonprofit, The Cara Program.  Tracey also drives a partnership with Accenture and World Business Chicago, and is thrilled to be a part of the Back on My Feet team.

Tracey graduated from Ball State University with a BS in Finance and an MS in Information and Communication Sciences.  She is the mother of three and currently resides in downtown Chicago.

Tara Short is the Founder & CEO of Green Edventures Tours. Through Green Edventures, Tara facilitates week-long, off-the-beaten path sustainable educational eco-adventures that connect people to extraordinary animals and places via outdoor adventure experiences most people only dream about. Green Edventures also helps local conservation initiatives, and specializes in group travel for teacher-led student groups, and women’s travel groups to Alaska, Costa Rica, Florida, Iceland, Mexico (Sea of Cortez), and Trinidad & Tobago.  

Tara has 20 years of experience in the eco-tourism and experiential education industry, with over 10 years’ experience as an entrepreneur. Prior to launching Green Edventures in 2008, Tara worked for the John G. Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, USDA Forest Service in Alaska, and Wild Studies in the Bahamas. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in Natural Resource Management with an emphasis in Environmental Education/Interpretation.  

Tara is a heart-based entrepreneur that believes that with a plan, commitment, and a supportive community, dreams can come true. Tara is thrilled to be part of the BoMF Team whose mission so closely aligns with her own story and purpose. 

When she is not traveling, Tara can be found biking or running Chicago’s awesome trails, participating in local races, and SCUBA diving in the 90,000 gallon Caribbean Reef Exhibit on Tuesday mornings at the Shedd Aquarium as a volunteer diver. She resides in Jefferson Park, Chicago.

Josh is a Partner for PwC’s Deals practice and is based in Chicago. Over Josh’s 20 year career at PwC, he has specialized in financial due diligence focusing on buy-side and sell-side services both domestic and international. Josh has focused on a wide range of M&A projects including carve-outs, joint ventures, working capital disputes, cross-border transactions and integrations. As a Partner, Josh has led numerous cross-functional diligence projects for U.S. based corporate and private equity clients.

Brent (nickname Minty) is the Midwest Vice President of sales at Cigna that is driven by his passion to improve the health of his clients’ bottom line by improving the health of their employees.  Health improvement is personal to Brent, as shortly after he graduated from Colgate University he was diagnosed with, Metabolic Syndrome.  Even after he hung up the jersey his body was recovering from the fifty pounds of he had gained while playing D1-AA football at Colgate.  The diagnosis led to him questioning the impact of the American environment on our health.  He went on to write, direct, and produce his own half documentary, half action movie, half comedy on health in America titled, SICKCARE. Originally from Denver Colorado, Brad attended and graduated from Indiana University. After IU Brad moved to Chicago in 2011 to join a trading firm, Gelber Group. About 6 months later he was offered a position at Morgan Stanley as a financial advisor and remained there for four years. Brad joined Merrill Lynch in January of 2016.

Brad is an active member in the Chicago community. In the past he has worked closely with the Lake Shore animal shelter and Jumpstart, an early education organization. Currently he is active with Back on My Feet and the National Tourette Syndrome Association. In 2011, Brad raised money for the animal shelter by running with their Chicago marathon team. He also ran the Chicago marathon in 2012 for Back on My Feet.

Brad is an avid golfer and when he can get home to Colorado, still enjoy any and every mountain sport. Currently Brad lives in River North with his Fiancée Melissa and their dog Jack.

Dave Zimmer is the owner and CEO of Chicago’s most popular running stores – the three Fleet Feet Sports locations that have been the highest volume franchise in the national Fleet Feet chain every year since 2000.  Under his stewardship, Fleet Feet Sports -  Chicago has established a reputation for its customer-first focus and wholehearted commitment to community service. Zimmer personifies Fleet Feet Chicago’s motto of “Running Changes Everything” by actively seeking ways to positively impact not just his consumers but the community at large. He served as the President of the Mayor’s Fitness Council of the City of Chicago, is on the board of a local charity (Imerman’s Angels), founded the Chicago Triathlon Club in 1999 and his company sponsors and/or stages over 50 running/fitness events each year that benefit various community groups and charities in need. 

With his degree in Communications/Radio/TV/Film from Chicago’s Loyola University, Zimmer is a media favorite and has repeatedly been interviewed locally and nationally by major media outlets when they need a voice on running, retail, health or special events management. Zimmer attributes the success of Fleet Feet Sports’ retail and sports management to his enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff, their willingness to find ways to connect with consumers and sponsors while developing a sense of community beyond the few minutes someone spends making a purchase at his stores.  

Zimmer is married to a fellow runner, Lisa, who helped him build his Fleet Feet business, and has a son and a daughter who are well-known by the running community.
